Electrolysis is the only medically recognised method
of permanent hair removal. There are many temporary options,
such as shaving, waxing, depilatory creams, tweezing and bleaching.
Since all of these methods are only temporary solutions, they
require frequent, time consuming maintenance.
In addition, they can further compound and aggravate existing
skin problems and they can also lead to added problems such
as skin irritation, ingrown hairs and scarring.
Electrolysis involves placing a sterile needle into the
hair follicle and transmitting a small amount of electrical
energy into the follicle. The current destroys the hair’s
regenerative cells, and the treated hair is then removed
from the skin.
Once the regenerative cells have been eliminated, there
is no possible way for the hair to be reproduced.
